The factory food industry has existed for only a very short time in the history of dogs. This means: either factory foods need to evolve to output fresh raw juicy meat, or dogs need to evolve to process dry grains. I can’t see either of those things happening real soon.

Start with a very small amount of fresh food mixed with a lot of their favorite junk food. Then increase the meat ratio gradually till it’s all fresh food. It’s OK if this takes weeks. Getting hooked on factory food took a long time, so what’s a few weeks?
